The dam breaks for gay rights
Much to it's credit the state assembly of New York, America's greatest state, has voted to grant to gay people the right of marriage. It's been a long on-ramp... Congratulations to the gay community!

No state that participated on the wrong side of the War of Northern Aggression can be considered a "Great state"...........New York, America's greatest state,.....

Re: The dam breaks for gay rights
I called my state senators and told them I wanted it pass. It's nice to be on the winning side.
And, the South has some nice sites and nice looking ladies but pretty much sucks.

Listen, if I wanted to live in a place where books are thought of as black magic, I'd move upstate.

As a southern planter with an old Antebellum plantation, this song brings tears to my eyes every time I here it. (BE's OP is derailed now I guess.)

Yes, God's flag.
Furl that Banner, for 'tis weary;
Round its staff 'tis drooping dreary;
For there's not a man to wave it,
And there's not a sword to save it,
And there's not one left to lave it;
And it's foes now scorn and brave it.
....... While around it sounds the wailing
Of its people in their woe.
For, though conquered, they adore it-
Love the cold dead hands that bore it!
Weep for those who fell before it!
Pardon those who trailed and tore it!
But, oh, wildly they deplore it,
Furl that Banner, softly, slowly;
Treat it gently-it is holy,
For it droops above the dead;
Touch it not-unfold it never;
Let it droop there furled forever-
For its people's hopes are fled.
