Ship captain. But the best costumes have the worst logistics issues. Another one I like is the armored knight.

Captain Phillips of the Maersk Alabama. Got any Somali friends to go as pirates.
Pretty sure you are not leaning toward the Skipper from Gilligan's Island.
Captain of the Lykes High Flyer which meet its end in the 1947 Texas City disaster. The company can ask you about the ship's emergency cash kept in your safe which you reply "was blown up with the ship". The safe is presented, after being found in a field, and when opened reveals no cash money. (This is true, from my dad, an ex Lykes engineer.)
No Captain Kirk, like a 1000 Trekies out there.
Captain Frank Ramsey of the boomer the USS Alabama in Crimson Tide. If there is a brig you can get locked up or try to nuke a country.
Captain of the Exxon Valdez. Good if you plan to drink a bit.
