Keeping the community on course

This is being opened up the the membership.

How will we deal with those who will not participate within the guidelines set for for this board.

First effort will be a poll to decide if the membership would like to have a vote to determine if a member is not participating along the generally accepted guidelines and should be removed. (banned).

The threshold will probably by something around +50% with voting period of a few days. It may also involve removing posting permissions until the vote is complete. (In the case of a very disruptive member).

This poll is to determine if the membership desires a voice in this matter. Feel free to post you opinion or details on the subject.

Regardless, they may well be cases where bans may occur solely based on the staff's call but I would hope those would be few in number.

Actually policy will be determined/revamped after membership discussion.

I say "yes".

It would be wise to make 7 members who have different tolerances to vote. Much like the Supreme Court that take things on a case by case basis.

Remember to actually press yes or no, if you haven't.

My main concern is that people feel they are an important part of this place and that their opinion matters. Hopefully if someone is asked to leave they might discover it is not just a single person's opinion. Of course that probably won't make a difference.

I voted no. This is hp's and Egg's site, and just like Mur I trust their judgement.

Ah, everyone here is okay... maybe have fun with it... like have %60 membership votes (those present during the vote) on changing their avatar to richard simmons or something stupid for a few days if someone gets a little out of line by "community standards"... if they freak out from that then ban them cause they have no sense of humour (or the board is full of pricks in their opinion and they wanna leave anyways.)

Too many cooks spoil the broth (or something like that).

I trust Pigeon and eggs judgement.

If for any reason I disagreed I would think I could go and plead my case :)
