The Glasgow Eucarist

Salvaged from the wastelands...

Such a delicious discussion.

Re: The Unithread is here!
Inasmuch as it is the purpose of the Unithread to establish the principle that, in effect, there is only one Argument in nature, I'm constrained by my own conditions to demonstrate this point relative to the preceding kerfuffle. So I'll start by averring that what we're dealing with here are nothing other than competing Spectacles in a societal Dialectic. The first is the passion play of the ruling elite while the second concerns the passions of the underclass. This is the only relationship that they bear. But that is not a trivial observation but goes directly to the nature of Given Reality at this moment in the (assumed) temporal continuum. And so the Dialectic under consideration deals not with details but with the largest of social paradigms. The Mayor of Moscow inadvertently framed it correctly- it is Manichean by nature- having to do with Good and Evil as we perceive them. It manifests itself in the ongoing conflict between Necessity and Spontaneity- Telos and Freedom, God and Lucifer.

When resources are finite and most go to a small section of the population, what else can you expect?

Kibbles aren't bad if you soak them in the hot water first.
