Surely the ruling class is providing a monocle rather than a spectacle.
I know you don't mind being called Sur(e)ly.

If I could get any animal it would be a dolphin. I want one bad. Me and my mom went swimming with dolphins. I was like, 'How do we get one of those?' and she was like, 'You can't get a dolphin. What are you gonna do, put it in your pool?' Miley Cyrus

Hey, BE.
I've been wondering about this.
What exactly are humans capable of? Can the mass of humanity move themselves to becoming altruisive, ethical beings? Do they have the hardwire for it?
Even in Cuba where there was a huge push for education, ethical standards and so on (Castro is brilliant!) There are huge pockets of unethical corruption or greed for consumables. Castro walked ahead with the light but the glow of it didn't reach all the way back to the line.
I just don't know. I want to think good of humanity. I really do! That all are capable....but I just don't know anymore.

Well, actually, I don't know either. But I'm convinced it"s worth the effort anyway.

Re: Boycotting everything
Because without the effort we'd all be still scrabbling in the dirt.
You're right.
Everything, absolutely fucking everything has been built on the effort and the hope. All through the ages. And each time we think we get there, we raise the standard yet again.

Re: Boycotting everything
Have you considered that if the number of souls attached to this planet is finite that it follows that at some point in the near future they'll all be present at the same time? It's simple math. And at that point we'll realize, together, that the big bang never happened but rather is about to- and that bang is nothing but a shared thought.

And in that last moment, despite all the go-ings and do-ings and buzzings of flies, together, we'll share in the wakening of the God and the denouement of history.

Um,
The big bang / extinguishment, all existing is always in my mind. Always in me.
So yes, in a way, I have considered it.

Re: Boycotting everything
You may be on to something, perhaps we have reached that finite number of souls, but breeding like rats as we are the newer generations are soulless. That would explain street urchins such as Snow.Have you considered that if the number of souls attached to this planet is finite
Credo quia absurdum.
Re: Boycotting everything
Ah, that is illuminating.
The soul machine on the moon (who the hell came up with that one, anyway?) ran out of souls so we have the soulless generation.
(I actually think it has more to do with all the moms heading back to work in the eighties and feeling guilty for it and over indulging the kids.)
