I'm fine with the discussion going all over the place. I enjoy it.

Just to be clear, though, what I started posting here has less to do with God or the nature of reality than you and me.

The one who watches is your awareness - it is not your thoughts or body. Your thoughts are not you. There is an awareness in you that was in you since your first breath before you were indoctrinated into the belief systems you hold and before ideas were put into your head. That is the "real" you.

I agree, Indiee. It's not exactly like the dream state we enter in REM. It definitely has more substance than that, our waking existence. However, just like a dream it ends, just like a dream it often makes no sense. It's just another form of reality. Also, just like a dream most of it is in your head.
