Super moons
Re: Super moons
Olympus E-20 digital SLR. The easy to use stuff usually has problems, like I mentioned. Tried a small Nikon but no go.

Re: Super moons
^ Okay, thanks! All I have is an ARCHOS70 Android Tablet and its camera totally sucks dolphin balls, maaan!
I just wet out to try every possible experiment to reduce glare from the moon so that the Droid's camera woild photo the moon better than last night but nothing worked. I even held a pair of sunglasss in front of the camera lense! All that did was make the moon go tiny!
...Pity really.
If anyone out there in Forum land has the means to photo tonight's moon please do so and post your pics onto this thread for us. Many thanks in advance!

Re: Super moons
What if you put a hole a bit bigger then the size of the moon image in a card and align it with the moon. Get all the light from the moon to cause the exposure to compensate.

^ I like the sound of your idea, pigeon; and it's the only one I didn't ty due to its tricky-to-get-right nature; so I'll give it a go, tonight. I had a partial attempt to try it though: what I did was place my hand over the right-side of the Droid's camera lense to see if blocking about 40% of the black surrounding the moon would have a positive effect — I detected none!
That doesn't prove anything though, does it?...

PHOTO OF THE MOON USING PIGEON'S PIN-PRICK TECHNIQUE:
As you can see, I attained no improvement of quality on previous photos.

Re: Super moons
^ Yeah! I'll tell you all what: tomorrow night I'll try it again, only with a piece of clingfilm or semi-transparent sweetie wrapper to cover the tiny pinhole in the card. It's already very tricky because you have very little idea of how big or small the hole can/must be, nevermind adding more items into the equation! I'll do it though because it doesn't take too much time...
