I'm ashamed to be an american

Post by anarch » Thu Apr 07, 2011 6:20 pm

Original version by Lee greenwood
If tomorrow all the things were gone,
I’d worked for all my life.
And I had to start again,
with just my children and my wife.
I’d thank my lucky stars,
to be livin here today.
‘ Cause the flag still stands for freedom,
and they can’t take that away.
And I’m proud to be an American,
where at least I know I’m free.
And I wont forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.
And I gladly stand up,
next to you and defend her still today.
‘ Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land,
God bless the USA.
From the lakes of Minnesota,
to the hills of Tennessee.
Across the plains of Texas,
From sea to shining sea.
From Detroit down to Houston,
and New York to L.A.
Well there's pride in every American heart,
and its time we stand and say.
That I’m proud to be an American,
where at least I know I’m free.
And I wont forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.
And I gladly stand up,
next to you and defend her still today.
‘ Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land,
God bless the USA.
And I’m proud to be and American,
where at least I know I’m free.
And I wont forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.
And I gladly stand up,
next to you and defend her still today.
‘ Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land,
God bless the USA.

The updated version

If tomorrow all the things were gone,
that i'd been given all my life.
And I had to start again,
with just my stepchild and my wife.
I’d thank my lucky starz,
to be livin elsewhere today.

Because that flag now stands for oil
And you can't make that chaaaangee

I'm ashamed to be an american
Where I know that your not free
And I already forgot the men who died
To bring my oil to me

And I'll proudly SIT DOWN On my couch
to watch my HD TV

No their ain't no doubt I despise this land
God save us from the USA

From the unions in Wisconsin ,
to the corruption in wall street
Across the bankrupt Californians
From sea to fucking BP

From Abu guarb down to gitmo,
and the bailouts of freddy mac to fanny mae
Well there's arrogance in every American heart,
and its time we sat and sang.

I'm ashamed to be an american
Where I know that your not free
And I already forgot the men who died
To bring me the gasoline

And I'll proudly SIT DOWN On my couch
to watch my HD TV.

cause their ain't no doubt I'm ashamed of this land, God save us from the USA

..........

Now how do I throw a creative commons copyright onto this bitch?

Time to kiss and make up you two.

While I can appreciate your humor, and honestly, there's some truth to it, I can't say I'm ashamed to be an American. There's definitely plenty to be ashamed of, no doubt.

I feel embarrassed when my countrymen mouth off their egos in front of foreigners about how we are so great and so free and the best at this and the best at that. One of my pet peeves. Or, when we are perceived as ignorant because some dumbass redneck asked a stupid questions like "Do ya'll live in igloos?" I really hate that shit.

And, I don't think I'd want to live anywhere else. I really hate snow, and I hate the heat & big scary bugs. If I had to pick, I'd choose BC if they let me keep my gun. I'm used to the rain from living in Oregon.

Put it in an envelope and mail it to yourself. Then never open it. I heard it holds up in court.

That's called a poorman's copyright. You need to mail it certified mail and never open it.
